Front left speakers not working
I realized this past weekend that my front left (driver side) speaker(s) are not working. I did the check using the fader and balance features and that confirmed the fact that it is the front left speaker(s).
I do not have logic 7 sound. Any idea if there is anything that I can do to check on my own before taking it into a AV shop? I have never done any sort of work on any car audio systems before so probably a noob at this but overall am quite good with handy work so if given the right guidelines, I could probably work my way around. Thanks in advance for the tips/help/suggestions folks! |

Use and ohm meter to see if the resistance
Use and ohm meter to see if the resistance is the
same on the right and left door speaker as measured from the amp connector . If you have a Hi Fi system. See wiring diagrams for the member sticky. |

Thanks for the tip. The problem is that I don't even know how to use an Ohm meter..i would assume that I could get one at a pep boys or auto zone or something, correct? What would this test help me with? I have identified that the speaker is not putting out any sound so I would assume that this test would tell me if any power is going to speaker and just the output is not there?

It would tell you if the speaker is connected.
It would tell you if the speaker is connected.
Or if the values were different from the working side to the bad one, it would tell you there could be damage speakers. Have you checked for water in the amplifier area as that is a common problem with amp failure . I am assuming you have a stock 09 which has the Hi Fi system. More likely the amp would fail . |
