F30 M steering wheel on E9X
Has anyone managed to fit the new steering wheels on the E9X, I think they are beautiful and can pick them up for about £400. But ive done quite a bit of looking and the slip rings are slightly different.
Think it would be a sick install? |

I looked around at the possibility but never found anyone who did it successfully. I just saved myself the trouble and went with an M3 wheel retrofit.

I've had a look at a lot of pictures on google of the two wheels and there is one slot in the slip ring which is different. If i had the funds i would buy one and try and fabricate it too work.
I guess until you have them both there you'll never know! |

Almost anything is possible in the world of mechanics and electronics. Just need to know what to do and the willingness to get it done.

I'm sure it can be done... I mean... Someone did an e90 interior in an e36...
I just installed my Performance wheel, so I wouldn't be the one to try it.

I would do just the opposite since I'm strong believer that the e36 have better dashboard layout compared to e90. I loved how the dash is driver oriented in my old e36. But this is for another thread.

A very 90s thing to have the driver orientated dash, all the jap coupes have something similar.
I'm surprised someone has had ago at the wheel install due to all the hype about how lovely the new wheel is! |

Do you have DCT M3 Steering wheel installed in 335i? I am considering doing that, I have 2009 335i E90 sport wheel "push/pull" wheel, looking to upgrade that

I made a thread about it. But I think your retrofit would be easier since you have paddles already. You'd have to do some research. On my LCI without paddles I needed a DCT wheel with its original multifunction buttons so I could avoid swapping the slip ring. Just saw this for sale: http://www.e90post.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1170398
