Gutted ain't the word! Hit by another car...Update
Driving home yesterday when a guy pulled out of a side road without paying attention and hit my offside rear. I was slowing down due to traffic lights so must of been doing 20mph and the third party must of been 10-15mph.
The guy admitted he was at fault and also got a witness so hopefully it all goes well. Quite a bit of damage for a quite slow impact, Dented door, quarter panel, side skirts, alloy, plus the stuff you can't see. Attached a few pictures of the damage, do you think this will be repaired? ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by hobo mofo; 09-06-2015 at 07:25 AM.. |

Hey you hobomofo!
That's unfortunate to hear man. Could have been worse at least your both alright. I think that'll be repaired and not written off if that's what you're asking? Worse thing us it's on the quarter panel. Any other door or fender can be changed but not the quarter panels! Hope you find someone reputable and luckily with a witness you definitely don't need to worry. It's just the time that you'll lose in repairs. |

I thought it may not be until I looked at the shape of the wheel.

I personally thought it would be a write off due to the rear quarter panel and wheel damage etc.
Looking at the quarter panel I don't see how they could repair. At least nobody was hurt as AYEDEE said above. |

If they're a dodge repairer would hammer it out and use body filler and Bog to fill up the dent and respray over it while he is cheaper but not essentially pretty. Over here in Australia these cars are more expensive so that wouldn't be a write off here in Australia maybe UK is diferent |

An official quote to fix that will be well over 4k I reckon, you'll need new suspension parts, fair few new bits of bodywork, and labour. My hats assuming the floor isn't bent and the impact hasn't creased anywhere else on the car.
Write off I'd imagine. |

Looking at the wheel it seems to have taken the impact well and all the damage seems to have gone to the suspension parts.

the more of us use these companies, the more our insurance is going to go up. and up. and up. they just pass their excessive costs onto the insurance companies and we all end up paying a bit more. |

Always sorry to hear. Glad no one was hurt as that's the main thing.
It truthfully makes no difference if you use a management company or not. Being involved in an accident (whether your fault or another party) will effect your premium at the next renewal. As for will it be written off or not, it all depends whether it goes with or against you. If it goes against the other party then as long as the repairs are less than the value of the car then you can have it fully repaired at their expense. Looking at the pics the cost is going to run to about 3.5 - 4k I recon as the rear quarter will need to be cut and a new panel welded and then painted. Along with rear door and some extensive suspension/hub work from the look of the wheel too.

Update:
Car was taken by the garage on Wednesday and have been told the repair is in excess of 5k. The guy said it will be repaired and not written off. Won't be fixed until end of September. |

Did they say who will be doing the repair and what they're going to be doing?
