Air Mass Sensor- which part?
Hi all,
Need some help figuring out which part i need to buy. I need to replace the AIR MASS SENSOR (BMW part no. 13627788744), which, my garage has told me is due to error code 3FF0 (E90 330d, M57VC92). Car parts websites sell various brands of sensor which fit my car and the prices range from £113 to £243!. Please can one of you kind folk advise which brand is the 'genuine' bmw part or recommended replacement part for this part? below are a few links to the various websites: http://www.buycarparts.co.uk/search?keyword=13627788744 http://www.eurocarparts.com/ecp/c/BM...9a1f0bd&000009 http://www.gsfcarparts.com/187bm0380 many thanks |

Pretty sure that Bosch is making MAF sensors for BMW (you could just take it out and have a look). Here's a pic of original one (the ones directly from Bosch don't have BMW logo engraved on them, if I remember correctly):
- MAF But just like anything else BMW related, it's a lot cheaper to get a Bosch part rather than identical one from BMW.

perfect, thanks mate. thought it was a bosch...but wanted to confirm. Have been quoted £215 for the part from my garage. have seen it online for much cheaper so will buy and supply my own part.

Before you do that, see if the garage will get closer to the on-line price. They often do and you then avoid the nightmare where, when there is a problem, the garage say "your part was faulty" and the parts supplier says "it was damaged during fitting".

I'm getting a couple other bits done at same time, and the garage were the ones who identified the issue. More importantly, less chance of me breaking something else!
Yep thanks for the heads up on telling the garage to source the part cheaper. |
