how do I get rid of them?

... and what is the technical name for them,

You can code them out. Physically removing or replacing requires cracking open the headlight housing.

I think the OP is referring to the reflectors. OP, if this is what you mean then all you need to do is get color-matched reflectors

no not the reflectors. the lights inside the headlights. pre lci.

there's no way to unplug them without tearing the headlight out?

I can get to mine by partially removing the fender liner....i replaced mine with white LED's a few months ago. Mine is pre-lci as well
