EOI - Yarra Ranges Cruise - New Thread Started
NEW THREAD STARTED
Throwing it out there to see how many peps might be interested in a doing a cruise one Sunday in Oct Potential dates include Oct 4, 11, 18 or 25 Course runs though a mix of city, twisties and mountain roads through Kinglake, Marysville and Warburton. Course is 300 Km long and takes 6 - 7 hrs to drive including pit stops If 300 km is a bit much I can always design a shorter drive to suit Comments and sign up below Last edited by Socket; 09-02-2015 at 08:34 AM.. |

1. Socket (Oct 18, full course)
2. vtl, any dates listed, full I am in, I have driven some of those sections many times. I would suggest going earlier rather than later as there are usually people on those roads driving slowly on a Sunday afternoon. Lake mountain would be a nice stop off, huge carpark and not many people go there after the snow season. Should we get CB radios for communications?

We pass that way but the plotted course stays on dual carriageway the whole trip (unlike last time when we tried to take a short cut resulting in a full retreat)

Yeh mate Early start is best, drive takes longer when in a convoy We can definitely detour to lake mountain No need for CBs, we got by fine with mobile phones last time |

Hahaha seriously it was a full heading into the wildness dirt road complete with hardcore giant ferns and crap ... not your ordinary dirt road dude and no place for performance non 4 wheel drive types whips

Radios are actually much better. We had to phone you while driving to tell you to overtake that little yellow car...
Edit: Also, while I like driving, 7 hours is a LOT of driving. It's like 8 hours drive from here to Adelaide... |

Yep 7 hrs is a long day I can organise a shorter route or if you are up for something completely different Ill organise a rally style event, where peps have to follow a set of instructions to check points, rather then traveling as a convoy Just trawling for interest and ideas atm |

This is my contribution:
https://www.google.com.au/maps/dir/-...a=!4m2!4m1!3e0 Pure twisties! The highway bits in the original route don't interest me too much and some of those sections usually have cops (marysville->lake eildon) Feel free to edit the route in the link
