Whining noise from N52B25
Is it ok that my car has some noise with decreasing amplitude even after rpm arrow already shows idle value? Please see my video.
The reason I asking is that my car has some annoing whining noise. Noise level increases with rpm, it sounds like fuel pump, but it's coming from front of the car and not from oil filter. Noise doesn't changes when I switch P to D, so it's not tranny-related, I think.

Are you talking about that whining noise as the end revs return to normal, in the background? That is as far as I know, the variable flow oil pump. They all do that! Actually commented on just that on a recent thread - Remus Powersound + AA Headers. The oil demand, just like coolant flow changes as the engine load and speed changes.

I have found some info about this noise and looks like it's not normal. This sound (when it's loud) talks about bad oil pump chain and gear wheel.

I am sure if it is louder than normal then it can point to a worn oil pump etc. In fact, just this past Sunday we had a local BMW run and there was a 130i that had its engine revved near me - the noise from its oil pump seemed quite noisy compared to what mine and others sound like.
