Honestly I wasn't that big on satellite radio or GPS nav. I like my iPod music and I thought navigation software needed to mature. But recently a friend visited with an older 3 Series which he had added a stereo with Sirius. He was also using his smart phone as a nav with Tom Tom software and a Bluetooth GPS (apparently that's only $300 compared to a grand for the full install.)
I was actually really impressed. Sirius was playing some great music like Grand Master Flash doing an eclectic set that included Gary Glitter, and a great garageband station. Driving all over L.A., Tom Tom was flawless with it's directions, and the optional John Cleese voice was very entertaining. Just thought I'd share that random 2¢.
