Sadly didn't get any pics of Alex's 335i(don't ask)but more important things were on the agenda namily poor performance having seen Alex's car when Sxanth(Anthony)bought his car in for some TLC we carried out a diagnostic for Alex while he was wating to take Anthony home and discoverd a couple of issues and that dreaded 30FF code.
So a week later we had Alex's car on site ready for Monday, Monday came and the wirk was undertaken. The first items that suffer are the pressure converters which can go down(I had both mine repalaced as I was of the opinoon that mine were on their way out)and before changing Alex's we knew his were toast but opted to see if there was a little uplift in performance by using my old ones purely as a test fitted and tesat driven we noted a bit of a difference enough so to prove the gut feeling was right change the pair of them, duly ordered we went looking for vacuum pipes. ![]() several were found to be split, tired but more importantly these had been played with before and were also on the turbo side of things incorrectly routed namily kinked. Only action was to swap the old for some new and this was duly carried out ![]() ![]() ![]() As Alex's car coverd over 100K you can never tell what's lurking ahead but pipes sorted converters repalced we had the cars power back JB4 re installed more power. While with us also chcked Alex's gearbox and for a car with 100K on board dry. All Alex can do is monitor things and move forward from here Last edited by old grey steve; 09-08-2015 at 04:27 PM.. |

No worries though it takes time so in the future might reign this sort of stuff in a bit

Vac pipe wise,it's a little fiddly and you've got to trace ideally each pipe so not to get them mixed up if you follow me, but it's a DIY potentual job for sure, as many on here will backup, pipewise we buy it off the reel which is over 50 metres from memory it's far more durable construction than the stuff from BMW that I do know as I've had mine done but it's not silicon

Thanks Steve as always!
Car seems fine, it has decided that all of he break pads need replacing though, happened all at once sadly but just going to ignore for now as they are pretty new I think. Ants car is running well still which was the larger job for you - he's still over the moon with the service received. |

Depends if you know the difference between N47 and M47 intake manifolds!
