Where to get 12mm spacers in Oz?

Hi all

Any ideas where to get 12mm spacers in Australia for my front wheels?

This is only for private track use!

Ordering from the US usually has a $80- $100 postage

cheers

I just sold some on the Aussie classifieds

thanks guys. With the 12mm spacers, like the kit from BMR, do I just take the existing wheel off, put the spacer on, and then use these longer bolts to fit the wheel back on?

I just want to make sure I don't have to use a wheel 'pin' like I saw on one US website. And I don't want to have to cut bolts to the correct length, etc

cheers

When you buy 12mm spacers you should also get included extended bolts to fit them. NO wheel pin required. 5mm spacers you can get away with using same stock OEM bolts but with 12mm extended bolts + hubcentric is a must.

Thanks Ayedee

If I buy the 12mm spacer kit from BMR or the US, it should come with the right-length bolts?

Also, do you think I need to get front wheels realigned after putting these on (no other suspension changes from stock)

cheers

Correct length bolts will come with kit. No need for wheel alignment. Just make sure the spacers are hard up against the hub and the bolts tight and u should be good to go. Oa difficulty scale of 1 to 10 this mod is a 1

No wheel alignment needed IMO as you're not changing any suspension components - just adding horizontal surface area of the hub. edit: beaten by socks

sorry, but what is a hubcentric? a metal ring?
do I need to buy this as well apart from the actual spacers?

Lol hubcentric wheel spacer holds the wheel in place. Non hubcentric spacers don't hold the wheel Centre so all the force is against the weight will be on the wheel volts which is extremely. Dangerous.
You can tell which is hubcentric as there will be a little lip around the ring where non hubcentric ones are flush both sides

Means it has a lip that makes sure spacer is centered on the hub

Thanks.
So, that comes with the spacers already. I thought there is something else to buy.
As far as I know, just clean the hub properly to get rid of the rust, and put the spacers on the hub with the extended bolts, right?

Yep

Clean hub
Place spacer on hub
Put wheel on hub
Put extended bolts in holes and tighten
Done

Will buy a torque wrench/ digital torque adaptor later to do the job properly.
Don't want to have the same thing happened on the RX-7 in the video that you have posted previously.

With these extended bolts...is there a risk of them snapping or threading resulting in wheel coming off? I guess the hubcentric 'lip' takes most of the load, but the bolts would still have some lateral loading on them, at least from vibration if nothing else..

I bought the bolt-on type for the rears. 20mm. The type that you bolt the spacer onto the hub, and then use the oem bolts to attach the wheel to spacer.

bah...why couldn't BMW just have provided wheels that were flush. My fat 255s at the rear are too far in...

Jebus don't use OEM bolts with spacers specially 20 mm spacers. They be way too short. The spacers would have come with longer bolts or go get some wheel studs and race nuts.

the spacers come with new bolts that you use to attach the spacer to the wheel hub. Then you use the existing bolts to attach the wheel to the spacer (the bolts don't have to go through the spacer into the hub)
