Does anyone know of a better solution than the stock one?

I'm referring to the seal. This material isn't very good at repelling water based on my recent experience.

thanks

Works fine for me. If you want, put a bead of silicone around it.

As long as the cover isnt broken i've never seen any issues with the seal on it. Just make sure that its put on correctly and that the tabs clip into place.

If you want to make the seal tighter you can pull out the gasket, put a bead of silicone or something behind it. Let that dry and then re-install the gasket. This will push the gasket down farther making it tighter.
