What would be involved in putting an M3 DCT box and diff/shafts/rear end onto a 335d?

Am I right in thinking that using both the M3 gearbox and M3 diff will counteract the fact that the box is not a diesel box, and the ratios may not be correct?

Is it feasible?

Would it be much of an improvement?

No, you're not right. The gear ratios in all the gearboxes used in our cars (M3, 335i, 328i, 335d) are all the same (or nearly so.) The 335d has a much lower (numerical) of 2.813 versus 3.462 in the 335i. I believe that the MT differential for M3 is 3.15 and the DCT differential is 3.85.
