DCT Box on 335d?
Right then, obviously it wont be easy, and it will cost a fair amount, but daydreaming here:
What would be involved in putting an M3 DCT box and diff/shafts/rear end onto a 335d? Am I right in thinking that using both the M3 gearbox and M3 diff will counteract the fact that the box is not a diesel box, and the ratios may not be correct? Is it feasible? Would it be much of an improvement? Thanks! |

No, you're not right. The gear ratios in all the gearboxes used in our cars (M3, 335i, 328i, 335d) are all the same (or nearly so.) The 335d has a much lower (numerical) of 2.813 versus 3.462 in the 335i. I believe that the MT differential for M3 is 3.15 and the DCT differential is 3.85.
