Really can't believe how hard it is to get a E90/91 LCI 335i

Nearly had one, but BMW dealer was terrible, kept saying different things, yet all I wanted to do was put a deposit down to view. When they said yes it was sold

So what's prospects of a 335i that can still qualify for BMW warranty..

Had a 123d M Sport, moved to a MK5 R32, but wish I'd stayed in 123d until 335i

Get one under 60k with FSH and you can get BMW warranty.

I recently bought an E90 LCI 335i, I was lucky and stumbled across it without really looking so I bought it.

There was also a few E91s for sale at that time too but waay out of my budget.

Keep looking though. They will turn up.

You can get a warranty so long as it has under 100k. Past that I think you can only get the bare minimum cover. I think if you get a pay monthly arrangement then even if the car goes above 100k your still covered. Below 60k miles and I think its a bit cheaper. Mine has 96k and I was offered full warranty for £65pm IIRC.

Don't get hung up about AUC, it really is meaningless.

If you read my thread down the page a bit, you'll see another example why it is.

An Z4M with brake discs and pads well under the minimum, yet they are saying they are fine and editing the AUC report to suggest the minimum in thinner than it is.

They can't even be trusted to follow their own standards. Another dealer that had an E90 M3 was exactly the same.

Pick one up with a good history. As above if you get one with below 60,000 miles, the BMW/Mondial warranty isn't expensive.

there is no doubt cars are a lot harder to come by now that what they were a couple of years ago. I have never struggled to find a car upon selling my old one and the maximum time without a car was about 1 week. I'm now going on 4 months with no car, hopefully that will come to an end soon as i have my eye on a few cars not too far from home ! I saw a 335 e91 manual come up on auto trader last week which i know there is a few forum members looking for, i was ready to post up the advert but the car was sold within hours, the add is still live but just says car now sold but they can source others like this model.... good luck with that

Have you considered a 330i? I know some people are hung up on the 335i being the M3s little brother and being put on somewhat of a pedestal. It's not uncommon for people to go from 335is to 330is due to the 335i not being as expected. I would say test drive both and see what you think. Maybe you still want the 335i, fair enough. You'll be kicking yourself however if you don't see what the the 330i has to offer.

Comes down to what the individual wants really isn't it? if you want a more than capable solid NA engine then 330i is the way to go, but if you want to start dicking around a little and see some gains for little expenditure then your going to go for the 335i.

I looked at 330i as I too was struggling to find an e90 335i that I liked but I held out and refused to settle for what wasn't my first choice.
Now im hooked.

As I said, if you still think the 335i is for you, then fair enough. It's certainly a great car.

It's just many find it a little less engaging to drive. Yeah, it can get to 100 pretty fast, sounds good and all that torque but less responsive on interesting roads.

You may struggle to find a 330i of the same spec tbh (E90/91)

I was unsure about 330i or 335i and decided that 335i was the way forward as one day I'd pull up next to a 335i and wish I'd bought one instead and always regret getting the 330i.

They aren't that amazingly fun to drive but the waft of constant torque is incredible and the way it just gains speed at any speed is fantastic.

If what you want is a 335i don't change your mind otherwise you will regret. I was lucky and got one from work. My car will be available to buy but not for another 8 months.
E91 335i auto M-sport with 26k with full BMW history.

I love it to bits and I think a 330 or any other won't be as fun. Fuel isn't good but if this is a concern then don't get it.

Get what suits your needs and that you can afford to run. An M3 didn't fit either of these for me but a tuned 335i fit them both, perfectly.
And just to start the same old argument before anyone else does... I think the 335i is a better car 90% of the time.

Have mulled 330i, but they're hard to find too. Spec I was trying for:
Leather
LCI
Bluetooth
Folding rear seats
Gearbox - pass
M Sport
Sub 50k

Not keen on the coupe.

Have been speaking to birds and DMS re thoughts. Did mull 330i with LSD poss etc.

Not looking to tune really, maybe DMS and that's IT. Would rather debadge it first lol. My 123d, first thing I had dealer do, remove all M and 123d badges.

Nice thing re R32 is that no desire to tune.

Car I tried to buy via AUC fully loaded, 2011, 34k on clock, up for £16.4k.

Can speak re VW AUC worth squat, what pissed me off is car had lots of issues that were there pre inspection, but managed to charge to warranty. Since learned car was owned by dealer principal's son. Corrupt, self interested idiot.

I do like my 335i. I've been looking at the latest Alpina D3 or B3 Touring, but don't think I could make the financial leap. Additionally, if i sell it and regret it, can I find another easily? The answer to that is a resounding no.
