transmission adaptation

Next week I'm having transfer case fluid changed and reset with an indy shop.
I told them I just changed my transmission fluid and filter and they told me this needs to be reset as well.
Is it OK to drive until this is done?

Your transmission adaptions do not have to be reset. The transfer case adaptions also don't need to be reset. The car will automatically adjust to the new fluid.

I agree with this. I did my transmission fluid in the summer and it drives smoother than ever. No reset done.

Had the transfer case fluid changed.
There tech said the fluid was a lot darker and very dirty from what he normally sees.
I changed my front and rear diff and looked really good , heck i changed the transmission fluid and that really didn't look too bad.
what gives? something wrong with the transfer case? I know there are clutches in the xdrive transfer units but there are in the tranny as well
