transmission adaptation
Next week I'm having transfer case fluid changed and reset with an indy shop.
I told them I just changed my transmission fluid and filter and they told me this needs to be reset as well. Is it OK to drive until this is done? |

Your transmission adaptions do not have to be reset. The transfer case adaptions also don't need to be reset. The car will automatically adjust to the new fluid.

I agree with this. I did my transmission fluid in the summer and it drives smoother than ever. No reset done.

Had the transfer case fluid changed.
There tech said the fluid was a lot darker and very dirty from what he normally sees. I changed my front and rear diff and looked really good , heck i changed the transmission fluid and that really didn't look too bad. what gives? something wrong with the transfer case? I know there are clutches in the xdrive transfer units but there are in the tranny as well |
