there are two CTKBM12 and CTKBM19. both very similar but the wiring is slightly different.

Can you tell us the details of your car and the description of the two harnesses?

The second one has a small speaker for pdc chimes. If you have pdc and you are amping the rear speakers or aren't using rear speakers this is the one you want.

The first one looks like the normal pdc harness. PDC chimes will still play from the rear speakers like normal. If you use this harness with the rear speakers amped the pdc chimes might be too loud.

My car is a 2007, m sport with front and rear PDC, I'm not looking to do anything drastic, just replace the standard professional head unit with aftermarket pioneer.

and keep the PDC and the chimes for warnings.

at the moment my pdc noises are the softer tone, not the basic one. you can hear which side the obstacle is by the level of sound from each speaker.

has anyone used either one of these kits? if so what was your standard set-up before using it?

Thanks

Do you have the base system? Or hifi? The easiest way to tell is if you have tweeter pods on the doors.

If you have base(no tweeters) and you aren't going to do anything else to the system get the first harness. You will also need a pioneer ISO harness and it is mostly plug and play.

If you have any other system or you are are planning on upgrading the audio system get the second one. With this harness the pdc chimes will come from the small speaker included in the kit.

The 1st harness will work as long as you don't amp the rear speakers. If you do, the chimes will be really loud.

Get an ISO harness for your headunit, and the constant 12 volt to the battery is all you need to wire up.

Sorry to bring back an older topic but where can I get these harnesses? I have the base system and would like to upgrade my head unit. I already have the DD navigation head unit but cannot find the harness anywhere. I used to do installs when j was s teen so the install is easy I just don't want to hack into the wiring harness.

Sorry for the late reply. You can get the harness here. You also need an ISO harness for your headunit and it is pnp(base system only) except for the constant 12 volt wire. If you can't find an ISO harness you can cut the connection off the connects2 harness and solder it to the harness that came with your headunit.

Cool, I'm sure the install was pretty straightforward since you have the base system. It is a little bit different for logic 7 or hifi. What headunit is that?

yeah, expect for the fact that they sent me the wiring harness for the hi-fi system and that made it so that the parking sensors worked through a little speaker, that was swapped to other wiring all all sorted now.

this is the pioneer app radio 3, i was going to buy the app radio 4 but this came at a price i couldn't refuse.

thanks for your help bmw325i
