Need some advice on VRSF FMIC installation...
So I took the stock intercooler off. Did a couple of coolant flushes to get all of the coolant out or diluted in the block. I didn't account for these single use clamps.
How do you remove this thing without damaging the hose? Thanks

First, i tried using a screw driver to pry it open, but i ended up bending the pipe. Then i had to go buy a dremel to cut off the clamps. I recommend cutting them off. Just carefully not to cut through and into the pipe. If u can see the seem of the clamp, you might be able to just pry it open but its up to you

I felt out the clamp for the seem, its kinda like a puzzle piece connection, pry from the edge there and it should come off. As noted on the above comment the pipe is pretty easy to bend, so use care when prying.

Just carefully with a dremel. Cut through enough of the clamp to snap it off but don't damage the pipe.

Dremel.
Reality is you'll never put the stock couplers back on so don't worry about hacking it up when cutting. In a worst case scenario that you're the less then 1% that goes fully back to stock, you can always pick one up at the dealer. A coolant flush was not necessary for the FMIC install, was this just a proactive maintenance? |

I ended up not finishing my car last night and had to take my wife's car to work. It has happened twice so far and honestly, the drive to and from work is just not the same (obviously). I broke my last dremel wheel last night as I was cutting the last itty bitty piece of plastic shroud on the driver's side. I mean, I made the cut and everything but there is a section that is less than an inch long that needs cutting. That's where my last wheel broke lol. I can't wait to hit home depot for some dremel wheels so I can finish this job and feel the FMIC gains/lower temps.
