e90 2006 disable bulb checks ???

Hello,

i have installed ncsexpert and i want to disable bulb checks, because i changed the rear lights to lci led lightbar.
This is for a older e90 from 2006 with frm1 Module.
Can anybody explain how to change and code this step by step using ncsexpert.

Thank you very much.

Kindly regards

For FRM1 you have to do it the long way round since there is no Vehicle Order option for LED RETROFIT. May I suggest this could be a good opportunity to upgrade FRM? If not, then manually coding out hot and cold bulbs checks is the only option:

WARMUEBERWACHUNG_BL_MI -> nicht_aktiv

Cold Test Brake
KALTUEBERWACHUNG_BL_MI -> nicht_aktiv

Warm test turn

In addition you may need to set the bellow to nicht_aktiv

With regards to NCSExpert itself you must do some reading. Some questions...

1. Do you have BMW Standard Tools installed and setup correctly?

2. Have you a suitably up to date sp-daten set installed?

I have installed BMW Standart Tools v2.12 and spdaten v51.3 with an can/dcan inpa cable.
I have used inpa to read out engine failure and reset failure codes.
But i never used ncsexpert, so i am a totally noob using ncsexpert.
Please advise me step by step to disable the bulb checks using ncsexpert.

I will outline your goal and a route there but in not going to write out everything step by step. Sorry but many people went to trouble of writing guides for this. You need to do a little searching yourself.

You first need to choose or make a suitable profile in NCS Expert. There are many but you just need one which has the manipulation box ticked.

NCSExpert will enable you to read a trace from your FRM module and output that data into a trc file called FSW_PSW.TRC. The file can be read in a text editor and it's basically a list of options which generally can be set to 'aktiv' or 'nicht_aktiv'. For you the bulb checks will be on. So you'd need to delete 'aktiv' and replace it with 'nicht_aktiv'

Once you have made the desired changes you must save the file as FSW_PSW.MAN.

Now that's done you go back into NCSExpert and change the job from read (lesen) to write (coderien). When you execute the job your changes will be uploaded to your FRM. Job done then clear any fault codes with INPA.

Here is a nice PDF with step by step screen shots.

1) Open NCS Expert.

2) Open up the 'Expertmode' profile.

3) Save as a new profile (give it a name).

4) Load the 'your profile' profile.

5) Edit it (file --> edit. Password is repxet).

6) Make sure under button 'Individualisierung' all options are crossed.

7) Make sure under button 'FSW/PSW', that 'from CVT' is chosen, and that the bottom two boxes are crossed.

8) Finally, press 'consistence check' and check it works.

9) Then press okay.
