Off Topic Secret Santa - 2015

Welcome to the inaugural BP Off Topic Secret Santa.

***OT Secret Santa is now closed ***Donations to the Go Fund Me link have closed.

That's $4,686 USD!! Thanks to all!!

Everyone is welcome to participate, come one come all!

More about this below. (dollar amount listed on the Go Fund Me page is Canadian Dollars, you can donate in your countries currency, but the total will be displayed in Canadian Dollars)

When you donate your "entry" fee, you'll need to type your BimmerPost user name in the notes section to verify your donation.

Once you've done that, send a PM to bimmette with "Secret Santa" in the title. In the body of that PM, you need to list the following:

Your Name
Your shipping address
Your T-shirt size
A short note to your Secret Santa letting them know what your interests and hobbies are. Basically anything that might point them in the right direction for choosing your gift. Please refrain from making a list of items.

December 1st 2015 will be the deadline to enter into O.T.S.S. (Off Topic Secret Santa) Within a few days of the deadline, bimmette will be sending out your submitted information to your Secret Santa. Which means you'll also receive an email containing the same information about your Secret Gift recipient.

When this happens it's now your duty to procure some type of gift worth a minimum of $20 with a cap of $40. You can spend as much as you like, but DO NOT expect to receive an equally expensive gift. You can send the gift as early as you like, but please try to procure and ship you gift so that it will arrive to your gift recipient before Christmas. PLEASE keep your gift recipient a secret until Christmas. However, feel free to post pictures or funny stories about the gift you've received as soon as you get it.

** With regards to the "entry" donation. The charity we are donating to is listed on the Gofundme page. (link above, goats are awesome!) In addition to your entry donation, two members will be matching the total dollar amount of the entry fees. ON TOP of that, one other member will be matching what the previous two members donate with their matching. So, with several entries we can make a substantial donation on behalf of all douchebag BMW drivers around the world!

Merry (early) Christmas and THANKS for participating!

No matter who I get, I am going to fuck your life up, and you are going to love every second of it.

I'd like to make a little post it here that, AFTER secret Santa has been finished, we should display what we got from our undisclosed Santa's, because I am expecting VERY impressive gift ideas from everyone.

Also, it is a $10 MINIMUM to get in. If your in a position to be generous, make your anonymous donation any amount that you'd like. This is fun for us, but the reality of the whole thing is to raise money for people who are less fortunate, so keep that in mind. The gifts aren't the prize, it's helping people who need it more than all YOU on a BMW forum.

Count me in on all of this but it seems kinda early. It's not even the middle of November, still count me in though. Also for you who read the last thread about me contacting Amazon, I got a generic response back about the idea going to the appropriate person. So maybe we can wait for that option to if people are not comfy with handing there address out. The plan set in motion right now works for me still. But might make things easier, idk.

Ordering stuff online sometimes takes awhile. And don't forget shipping internationally takes an extra couple weeks sometimes. We just want to get the process going so we can think of brilliant ideas

BP's most trust worthy member will be holding all the addresses. We made her promise not to sell the address on the black market. So only 2 BP members will have your address and one of them has to be participating. In order to do that, they have to make a donation and all brand new OT members with no posts or rep will be highly scrutinized before being allowed to participate.

But feel free to use a PO Box or talk to your local FedEx or UPS store about setting up a 1 month trial to receive packages there. Or, you can use your office if your employer is ok with it. I'm personally using my office, even though my boss is a dick.

Yeah, they wanted me to call them about the idea but been busy the last two days. Also with Amazon, it's easy to ship with 2 day free for us prime people and probably easy to ship to Canada. I mean for the most part 20-40 dollar price range items, shipping shouldn't be a big deal. But Im curious about the people outside of North America.

I can only think of Belgium and ClawHammer who are outside of North America and I think both are too private to play.

The only person that should be worried about giving bimmette their address is me. She's been hounding me for the past month and a half to sweep her off her feet and I haven't taken the plunge.

The rest of you, give her your damn address. We're all adults for fucks sake. Let's do something to help people since we have someone here we can actually trust, instead of some no name Joe. I've sent TarBear hundred of dollars for her to talk to me off BP, so I know she is legit.

Would it be too forward if i received your address and then took the next red-eye flight to show up at your door the next morning?

Ok, yeah for the most part I think it will be just the common OT people, just trying to throw out ideas to make it more friendly to new people, or people with trust issues.

I was thinking along the lines of those things you mentioned. Not sure if I wanna give my addiee to Bimmette though. Don't know if I trust those Canadians...

I've gotta say that you're the only person I consider a friend even though you don't trust me. Weirdo.

I think it would be cool to do something charitable like feeding the homeless or provide them with clothes for the winter. Last year I wanted to spend the money I would have spent on my family and buy clothes for the homeless, but family comes first. Maybe next year...
