iPhone mount - options ?
Looking for a mount for my E91, non i-drive car. I have a vent mounted one which is ok but looking for other options. Anyone offer any ideas?
Doesn't need to be a wired mount, but do need one that I can still access the ports on the bottom. Cheers :-) |

I use a breffo spider podium, works great, fits all sensibly sized phones (all these tablet sized silly billies may struggle) and always attracts attention when people get in and see it for the first time, £13 from amazon, gives access to all the ports under and around your phone as they're moldable arms, it is vent mounted if that's an issue
My missus uses a magnetic mount where a small ball is stuck to the shiny plastic in here mini dash and there is a small magnetic cup that she has stuck to the back of her phone case, holds the phone in place using the magnet and can be angled to whatever angle is best, pretty good if you don't mind having the cup stuck to your phone back all the time and the ball stuck to your dash trim |

It depends on what you want it for, but if i want mine out of my pocket, I just open up the ashtray and lie the phone across it. Works a treat.
If you're using it for maps, and have bluetooth in the car, it'll play over the radio anyway. |

I use an eBay suction mounted one to the right of the wheel. Just a universal base with the form fitting holder than the phone snaps in. No good if you have a case though.

I'm using a Brodit iphone holder with a seperate mount which is held inbetween the top and bottom of the air vent. I've got the quick release slide on the mount and the holder so basically it just slots into the mount when I want to use and slots out when I don't. When the holder isn't in use all you seen a black panel. It wasn't the cheapest though but I highly recommend it.
Details for the mount : http://www.brodit.com/product.html?id=853595 You'll then have to buy a holder for your phone and if you don't want to screw the holder to the mount then the quick release slide things too. |

Thanks, yes I ordered the permanent screw in type for a 6+ (ebay). Both parts from different sellers, hopefully may have them today.

Go for the Brodit, I have used them in a few different cars with various phones and they are always rock solid.
A little pricey but you get what you pay for! |

Great quality, the finish looks like metal and it's really secure. I guess I'll have to drill to the clamp, I thought it might have been pre drilled but not a problem. Last edited by Rialas; 11-20-2015 at 08:41 AM.. |

I know this thread is concluded but just for anyone else looking for options, I have this mount which I think works quite well.

Nice quality, small snag, I've had to remove the little swivel thingy in the back of the mechanism as it won't open big enough to fit my phone with its skin.
Also I'm going to have to reroute the iPhone lead from behind the stereo to come out on the ignition switch side otherwise I'll have an untidy looking wire crossing over the Stereo. |

I had this same issue with my phone as well, I have the OnePlus 2 which is a similar size to the iPhone 6+. I ended up going for the Belkin Vent Mount which does the job well and opens up wide enough to fit the phone properly.
