E90 320d re-map.
Well, finally had it done after over a year of um's and ahh's.
Simon at e-maps is a top bloke. Thanks for everything Simon if your reading this. I kept open minded about the whole thing as I wasn't expecting to much. I'm not a "boy racer" just wanted a bit more drive ability, less gear changes etc over standard and a bit more grunt on the motorway. The whole process took approx 1 hour and Simon kept me up to date with what was happening (And made me coffee ). When I left Simon l was in a 30/40 mph zone for a number of miles and couldn't feel any difference as the car felt "normal" and drove as well as it always had. At one point I even thought about calling Simon to ask if it was possible for the re-map not to have worked?? Anyway, just before I picked my phone up I hit a dual carrage way and planted my foot.... Well, what a difference. The car just pulls and pulls as you go through the gears. I'm not talking 330d power but what a difference over standard and money well spent. The speedo needle just sweeps up the gauge as you go up the box. I've done 500 miles since the re-map last Wednesday and the car hasn't missed a beat. Again, thanks Simon and also a big thanks to everyone who provided me with the info and feedback so I could get this done

Why don't manufacturers do this from stock.... :-) You better get yourself to Surrey Rolling Road on the 19th April.. I wanna see what the 20d can do when it's on steroids ! SJ |

The 163bhp can be remapped but nothing for the 177bhp , only tuning boxes at the moment.
Here's a dyno plot from a 120d 163bhp I did a while a go, car was ran independently at WRX in Silverstone by the customer before and after the remap. Ignore the headline figures, look more at the difference as this car started out with more power than stock |

That Dyno graph has been done in the wrong shootout mode so the final figures are indeed to be ignored.
However the gain cannot be contested in any case as they were done in the same mode. I find it strange how you now choose to post up dyno graphs when your always hinting (and quite clearly denouncing them to myself on the phone) that that they aren't of any use. You'll only talk about them when it suits you to do so. Sorry for putting the above down but lack of consistency in your approach is not good. Anyway....well done on getting the remap done Chris, it just has to be done on these cars! Thanks Sal |

I dont know who you are Sal or your company, but Simon at Emaps, comes very highly recommended by myself and has done my car and about half a dozen of my customers cars - all with great results, and many other on this forum. You just seem to want to put him down all the time. Simon does actually say in his write up to ignore the figures, but you still need to pick up on this - very strange.
How about some reviews from your customers? Just my two pennyworth as usual

Nice looking Delta Simon, Sal you'd be proud, I spotted the shootout was in 4 too, but naughty naughty for launching more tuner nukes... remember you're here as a fan right
More to the Point the Viverator will be back soon and he's a nasty mod if ever i've crossed one SJ |

Please note that I have pointed out something completely different which is more aimed at the dyno operator than E-maps.
Also note that I have said nothing bad about the graph, infact if I were to say anything it would be positive. My point is completely different if you care to read carefully and tie it up with other threads. Thanks Sal |

No skin off my Nose Sal, I'm just joining in the Tuner bashing :P
In all seriousness I think it's great we have respected people coming to our little BMW site to discuss this stuff with us. I hope you ALL stay ! Put it this way I'd rather we all be friends - right ? |
