Dyno Friday. Customer Service Appalling.

Went to Dastek in Fife Friday for a dyno run.
When I arrived at 1.50pm I was greeted by the sales person only to be told that due to legal liability issues my son and I could not enter the workshop without one of their staff. He also stated that they were having problems with their lambda sensor. I was then informed that there was only one sales person available and he could not leave the desk. I therefore asked if I could have access for one of the runs. The sales person had to then go and ask the boss. When he arrived back he said that was not possible. I then asked if I could have access for two minutes just to start the laptop that I had in my car so that it would data log all the runs on its own. Again the sales person had to then go and ask the boss. By this time at least twenty minutes had passed and you could tell they were having other problems i.e the lambda sensor. When the salesperson came back he said that the boss said that I would have to pay for an extra half an hours run to enter the workshop and start logging. I told the sales person again that I only needed two minutes to start the laptop. Again the sales person had to then go and ask the boss. The sales person came back and said that the boss said no because there was other cars coming to use the dyno. I advised the sales person that I was not willing to pay an extra £52.88 for another 30mins and that I was dissatisfied.
I know at this point I should have asked for the boss in person but I wanted some results from the test. So I told them to continue with the runs.
I heard the fan spinning up on two occasions over the next hour and a half. There was even a customer who came in for a part and he was ushered straight through to the workshop. - So much for leaving the desk unattended. - After that point extra staff entered the sales room. There was also one member of staff that proceeded to clean and refill the coffee machine and also cleaned parts of the customer toilets. - So much for no staff available to escort us in the workshop.
Then the car appeared back in the parking lot and five minutes later the sales person appeared with the results. He explained that the AFR graph was incorrect due to the faulty lambda sensor. I was fuming by this time but said nothing. I took the results and said goodbye.
It was obvious that due to the fault with the lambda sensor they had taken a lot longer than expected. This was meant to be a half hour run and they were trying to get their money’s worth by asking me to pay for the extra half hour. The test took over two hours and all I got was two runs.
Also their earlier claim of having other customers coming in for a dyno run was also untrue as no-one else appeared either in the showroom or car park. Maybe it was one of the two skip and refuse lorries that arrived that they were talking about. No mention of that on the web site.

think squeezy babe has been on the bug juice..

i too dougie would be PISSED as hell.

that's a shocking sounding service and I'd be tempted to ask for my money back !

As for the results. Interesting...

Looks like 337 at the wheels, which sounds spot on for a V2 car. Their conversion to engine power looks low though at 10% ?

Is the car Auto or Manual Dougie ?

Boost graph is interesting, odd curve ? should taper a little not go down and then up, what User Torque settings are you running... (laptop graph here would be V useful, not your fault!)

Temp seems a little high, especially given the current weather ? This would give you an artificially high Power reading, not massively, but perhaps a % or so i would say.

Anyone else got any observations ?

By the way if it's an auto I think your BHP at the engine is nearer 396 ! (nice )

SJ The cars an auto. Boost graph is a bit strange. Passed this onto Dustin and he suggested reducing from 94% across the board to 92% from 4500 up. I will try to do a few data log runs today and see what the boost is saying. Since I did not see the run being done I take it that the temp was from the inside of the workshop. Interesting that they don't provide the intake temp.

Sounds like good advice from Dustin...

I've just ordered an all singing all dancing Zeitronix setup for when the DP's land.

Hopefully getting it all fitted together with the Quaife later in March.

Did a few runs today while data logging and could not get the boost value to go above 14.3 psi. Still on 94% across the board. Any suggestions why this should be when the boost on the dyno was showing 15.8psi?

Apparently there are some map changes on the way I would suggest unless you have a boost gauge and can confirm for yourself to reduce the UT values to 90 - 92 until Shiv has made a comment.

I'm certainly taking it "easier" until we get to the bottom of the logging issues, out of interest I'd like to see your graphs.
