FS: CIC iDrive Controller [SOLD]

I'm selling a CIC iDrive Controller (9231116).

I originally bought these to upgrade my E90, but turns out I have an old MASK system and not even a CCC, so this upgrade would have cost me a lot more than I anticipated. Therefore, I'm cutting my losses and just selling off what I have.

$100 ono for the controller
SOLD to GeTiNQ

Please note: the buttons have some slight wear on them as well, but it has been cleaned out for dirt etc.

Pick-up from around the Glen Waverley area or post at your own expense.

EDIT: Trim moved to the USA marketplace. Thanks to DR-JEKL for pointing this out. I'm a massive idiot for not realising this when I initially purchased it myself!

After reading through the forums, if you have a 2008+ CCC iDrive then it's plug and play, otherwise you'll need to get your software updated.

I have a 2008 E90, but it came with the old MASK system unfortunately, which won't be compatible.

Does your CCC have the 8 soft touch programmable keys? And does it have the silver menu like the bottom screenshots of this picture? If so, then your 11/07 build might actually work.

The CIC controller works for CCC too?
I thought CIC controller only works on CIC system?
I recall Naynay has done a complete upgrade to CIC, costing more than $1500 plus coding.

$100 ono for the controller
$150 ono for the trim

= $250 ono for both

Please note: the trim has a slight scratch on the side (as pictured), but for those of you plan on wrapping this anyway, then it wouldn't matter; the buttons have some slight wear on them as well, but it has been cleaned out for dirt etc.

Pick-up from around the Glen Waverley area or post at your own expense.

LOL. What a massive fail by me. I never installed the trim on mine because the controller didn't work, so I didn't even notice. Thanks for pointing this out man.. Kicking myself hard right now and feeling stupid. Updated description and moved the trim to the USA marketplace.

But what's the point just changing the controller.
I want the CIC not just the controller but the whole unit with the new interface as well as a faster system (CCC lags a lot in 335). The CCC looks dated too.

The controller is much better, it has shortcuts to the stuff rather than fiddling with the clunky knob.

I've got a late 2008 so I have the new controller but the old MASK system. The controller is much nicer than the old ones with the single menu button, makes it so much easier to use.

May I ask how you managed to get the new controller to work with the MASK system, vtl? Was it possible to code it yourself or did you have to get it coded at a workshop?

Nah my car came with it stock, it was a bit of a transitional period where they were mixing and matching parts.

I'd be able to code/update it myself (have the tools) but have not looked into whats involved.

Ahh that's so good haha. I missed out hard. Got quoted $200 for the software upgrade cause I don't have the proper tools for a full firmware update at home, so I pulled out cause I couldn't justify the extra cost.

Ic.
I think I have got the silver menu but I prefer upgrading to whole CIC system which has the HDD and more responsive system.
Thanks for clarifying.

To use the CIC controller on a CCC unit you will need to have a firmware installed that supports assigning shortcuts to the soft buttons 1 -> 6.

To update the firmware you will need to do it via ICOM. K-DCAN can be used, but not recommended as it takes way too long and is prone to errors.
