So after some "spirited" driving last night my car started misfiring...

I've recently replaced all of my plugs with OEM Bosch plugs and replacedo a coil on cylinder 1 with a Napa brand coil...

Here are the codes I'm getting.



Im going to try swapping the coil with ano there aND I'm gonna go buy a new plug to rule that out... could this be from a bad O2 sensor?

Mods are JB4 and BMS DCI

You're going to have to explain this one, I've never heard of the electrode physically disconnecting from the plug body.

I should be more specific... the ceramic insulator separated from the metal shell... which is caused by the internal seal failing.

I don't think I ever over-torqued them, but who knows, I'll have to get my torque wrench checked out to be sure.

Either way that caused the electrode to "free-spin" inside the metal body, which also disallows a proper completion of the plug circuit, thus no spark.

Ahh I see what happened, maybe you did over torque the plugs but I've seen people accidentally put 50+ ftlbs on these because they didnt know how to read a torque wrench and they never failed quite like yours did. If I remember from the last time I did my plugs they had to be torqued to 17ftlbs

They were torqued to 17 ft-lbs.... kinda hard to mess up with a digital torque wrench... I brought it in to work and made sure it was reading accurately with a calibrated meter....

Ever figure out the 2C77 code? I have code 2C73 which interestingly has the same exact description. My rear O2 sensors are new and the front sensors are originals but look to be working fine based on logs.

I had that problem last year and it was a pin in the dme that somehow was pushed a 1/16 down below the rest . I had to pull the dme out and get a pair of small needle nose pliers and pull it level with the rest.
It drove me crazy for about 6 months b4 I figured it out. Lol !

Ok cool. There was another thread with the same code and it was also from the pins. Very strange. I'll have to check that out although I haven't touched the DME in over a year.

It went away completely when I replaced the plug that failed.... my best guess is that the bank was seeing funny readings and threw a code out at it thinking that there was a problem with the A/F [Lambda] sensor....

Ever since I replaced that plug I haven't seen any of those codes come back....

Well except for the 2D2E code... that stupid code comes back randomly every few weeks....
