big thanks to Steve and all the other staff at A1BN Independent BMW specialists

Hi All

Just wanted to say a big thanks to Steve and all the other staff at A1BN Independent BMW specialists in Stevenage.

I had my 335i there yesterday to get a few things done:

MOT

Fit all the rear brake components which included: Hand brake shoes, Akebono brake pads, Zimmerman z-coat drilled discs and sensor.

BMS oil catch can.

VRSF Charge pipe.

And finally Walnut blasting.

I have to say that although the car drove well before the walnut blasting I can feel that it’s made a little difference. I feel it’s a lot smoother running now and accelerates a lot smoother. Not a night and day difference as some have previously reported but a noticeable difference.

Overall I think a worthwhile maintenance task that should be considered by anyone.

I don’t have any photos of before and after but Steve did take some and there was a significant difference and my car has done just over 67000 miles.
In doing this work they also noticed that the plugs looked tired so changed those for me at just the cost of the plugs.

Steve also told me that the charge pipe wasn’t a straight forward fit as VRSF would have us believe, however as the mechanics at AIBN are so good at their job they managed to get the pipe on with no major issues. Certainly glad I got them to fit it and didn’t attempt to mess it up myself

Super pleased with A1BN and can highly recommend their services.

Another great review for Steve there Manish! I need to get down and get my gearbox serviced from him one weekend. Just waiting for my oil change and coolant etc to come up too so I can get it all done at once.

Yeah I wanted to get my gearbox serviced as well but as the bill for this work was already over £600 I thought I'd better leave that for now.
The next service on my car is due in about 5000 miles so will probably look to get the gearbox serviced then.

Great News Manish thing with walnut blasting is its restoring the potential that over time has been eroded away. Some report night and day differences some report like yourself a less dramatic effect, this will all depend on the severity of the coking of the valves in most cases and to be fair yours weren't too bad though as you saw they were fairly gummed up.

But pleased your happy with what took place yesterday (I'll upload some photo's a little later this evening time permitting).

Yes your right Steve it all depends on how bad your car is in the first place as to what effects your going to feel after the work as been completed.

Certainly no complaints from me and no regrets on getting the work done either.

Very happy with the end result and would defo recommend it to anyone... especially using A1BN to get the work done

Your valves Manish starting from cylinder 1 to 6

and the most important pictures post work again rom cylinder 1-6

Most important thing is that the process works and will enable the car to work that little bit more efficiently.

Adding as you have an oil catch can will help re the above but the above at some time will have to be re visited due to the nature of direct injection.

Good stuff!

Got the walnut blast last week from them and you can definitely feel some difference in throttle response and seems to rev faster. Not night and day, but definitely a difference.

Had also the opportunity to meet another member on here!
