No more bluetooth..
My dealer in sweden just told me that BMW sent out a service note that bluetooth will not longer be able to order on new cars. Which means it will not come any more updated firmware for bluetooth. I said its because they've had too much trouble with it. Anyone else heard this?

They can't possibly do that, bluetooth is a great selling feature, especially since it is going to be the new standard in the future.
With all of the laws against driving with cell phones, this will def. be a standard in the coming future. |

thats a bunch of BS, why would they release CIP 20 or 2.0 what ever it is with fixes for bluetooth if they didnt plan on keeping it? Also many states have laws against using phones while driving so this is a good idea to keep so people can talk on the phone while driving. I think this is BS.

This would never happen in the US. We have too many laws regarding unfair competition, false or misleading statements, fraud and negligent misrepresentation, etc. The e90 has been widely advertised as having Bluetooth functionality.
There would be an instant class action suit filed, similar to the Verizon v710 suit that was settled in favor of the plaintiffs. I assume Sweden has many of the same laws. Regardless, it can't be true. With all of BMW's competitors now sporting Bluetooth, BMW could never drop it from their model lines. It would be one of the worst business decisions made by any company in years. Your dealer is wrong. |
