I got reversed into

Hi guys! I got reversed into today while picking up pizza from dominos. Took a photo of the driver's licence. No major damage just a dent and paint scratches on the bumper and bonnet. Anyone knows what I need to do and where I should do it at? I'm with aami

Sorry man, call insurance, not sure if you need to prove it was the other driver, but it may be quicker, and easier to just take it to a repair shop and get it fixed. Shouldn't cost too much.

Oh well contact your insurance company, I'm sure they will help.

Got 2 choices either bring it to an aami smart repairer or get 2 quotes from outside. Any recommendation?

Hmm I would find out who the recommended BMW repairer is in your area and get a quote there.

I know this from experiance when someone ran into the back of me. Im with AAMI and while you could hardly see the damage the repair cost over $1500
I didnt pay a cent because it was the other drivers fault and I had their details

So, if its the other persons fault you wont need to pay anything through AAMI
Lodge a claim and provide the details of the other driver etc and let them take care of the repairs and chasing up
No need for quotes, AAMI have their own repair centres around Melb (eg North Rd)

For the me process was painless and the repairs were top notch

Highly recommend Brighton Panel Works - they aren't adverse to mods either

Would be great if I got some mods paid for but don't think the shop will do anything except painting it. No major dents but there seems to be a small ding at my headlight washers.

Dam, those headlight covers are a pain, I just got one from my local BMW for like $55

Yup I know the other guy will have to pay. Problem is not sure if their workshop would do a dodgy job because it's not a major accident just paint came out.

Does your insurer AAMI offer you a choice of repairer?

I use Charlie Battisti at Nunawading, they are BMW and Porsche authorised approved repairer.

Can you get a quote from a repairer and once AAMI approves it, speak to the repairer to get the M3 aftermarket kit and install them?
I think with the cost for OEM bumper, you can easily get an aftermarket M3 bumper, even the side skirt as well?

If it were me, I would be wanting the whole bumper removed, paint removed , dings and scratches repaired and the fully resprayed. Not just a touch up or blend job.

Do some investigation, maybe AAMI will pay for a certain amount and you can pay the remainder to have it redone completely, remove all stonechips and scrapes.

I don't know, Ive never dealt with insurance before.

AAMI will take 3 quotes and then choose the cheapest as the winner

2 of the quotes must be from AAMI approved panels beaters
1 quote can be independent

I can suggest Charlie Batisti, Brighton Panel Works and then throw in a really expensive one like BMW Melbourne Body shop - this way you will get either Charlie or Brighton who are known to do a good job.

Definitely prefer a full proper respray plus maybe a small scratch at the side done as well. Haha

Walk into 2x extremely busy and high quality/ tech workshops in your area that specialist in euros. Get 2x written quotes and present them to aami. They will jack the price high at shops like this as they cant be bothered doing the work. Then, pocket cash. M3 bar and paint and your good to go. Will have money left over for activities.

Called active today as many of the guys at the meet recommend me to go to active for servicing. Active told me to cancel my claim with aami and they can organise everything for me as the other person is paying me and they want to do a good job for me. Anyone tried active before for insurance claims? They were also saying as its not my fault it's better to go through them as it may affect my no claim bonus.
