Question about HKS Blow Off Valve

My brother just got me a HKS BOV for christmas , and I called a place to install it for me and they told me I'd need an aftermarket charge pipe to install it. Is that true? I can't install it with the stock one? Thanks.

You can if you buy an adapter. Look on eBay for it.

If you're tuning your car, I would just buy a new chargepipe as well

Buy a new charge pipe and install it yourself.

Your stock charge pipe will crack very soon after you slap on a tune that boosts above the factory's 9psi. Get a VRSF charge pipe with an HKS flange and install it yourself.

Buy a charge pipe and make sure it has a HKS flange, otherwise, you will have to buy an adapter.

He has an 07 so his charge pipe will most likely hold up just fine (my 08 has 94,000 and holds up with 17 pounds daily). But putting a bov on a stock charge pipe is pretty stupid.

Garage List
You'll want a new chargepipe, the stock chargepipe is prone to failure and you'll have wasted your money on an adapter. The adapters also don't cover the full surface of the valve so it won't operate as intended.

Yes to do it properly you need an aftermarket charge pipe with an HKS flange on it. ER has one you can configure with just the flange.
