Hey guys, hope someone could help me out. I keep getting this dam code 2A97 crankshaft sensor, gap failure which causes limp mode. I changed the sensor out and it still comes up. Sometimes on start up it will also come on. running jb4 with full bolt ons. What else could it be causing this? Thanks

Try removing the JB4 to see if the issue is with the wiring or jb4 itself. Also make sure the connector is properly clipped into the sensor. The wiring is pretty short there so it can easily become disconnected either at the sensor or at the wiring junction box under the throttle body.

It still does it with jb4 off. Connections seem to b ok. If i take it easy on the throttle it wont come on, when i step on it and build boost it'll turn on. But ill just pull over shut it off then restart and code goes away. Sometimes it does it on start up which is weird but like i said ill just restart and everything is fine. I have a boost gauge and it seems to go off anywhere in the psi range. Sometimes even as low as 5 psi it goes POP and check engine light and limp mode. It'll also go up to 17 for a second then POP limp mode. I cant ever get this car to run right always something

All the more reason to eliminate the JB4 as a potential cause. It's the easiest thing to do and will remove any doubts.

Make sure it is plugged in good...i yanked it by accident installing my charge pipe and it had me going crazy since it is below the started did not see it....i know of someone who had same issue and he cleaned out his vanos solenoids and that cured his problem..do not know the comparison between this but it worked for him...
