Unhappy :? E90 Aftermarket Radio Install Tip?

Hello! I need the simplest temporary solution to connect common Pioneer head unit and 2007 e90 HI FI sound system. Need just sound no steer. controls ect. So my question is how to connect OEM e90 HI FI amp and aftermarket radio correctly.

OEM CCC radio (old unit) connector --- to ---> common Pioneer head unit

Is it enough just to buy wire adapters link1 and link 2 and just plug and play. In this case only speaker outs are used from aftermarket unit. Could that damage the OEM amp?

or I need to use also low RCA to OEM amp?

I would appreciate any info on this...

Connects2 harness, you'll need to modify it to use the rca outputs instead of speaker level outputs.

This is the harness you should use
https://www.dynamicsounds.co.uk/bmw-...n-support.html

You'll need to cut off the iso connectors and splice it into your pioneer harness. I recomend using solder and heatshrink so you won't have issues down the road. Instead of using the speaker level outs from the pioneer harness use this to connect to the rca outputs you'll need 2 of them.

Your steering wheel controls will work no programming required. You might lose chimes depending on the year of your car. Early builds have a seperate speaker for chimes. There is a different connects2 harness you could use if your chimes play through the stereo system and you want to keep them.

I'm not sure if the connections are any different with idrive. Mathematics had idrive and swapped his head unit. He modified the idrive screen to make it functional though so it is a clean install.

Edit- I just did a quick search and idrive uses the same quadralock connector so the install isn't much different. I agree there is probably extra wiring in the way and then you'll have a non functioning idrive controller and screen.

Ok you remove the idrive and you have dead screen

Ok you remove the idrive and you have dead screen
in the middle of the dash and dead idrive contoller on the
center console that's the mess . Plus the usual we can't fix
it or upgrade the software without the original stuff installed
from BMW . Thats the mess not that you can't hook it up.
