N55 Vibrates/rough idle

Hi Guys,

My N55 with 75.000 km have some vibrations during idle, I can really feel it in the seat and also on the wheel. It only occours at absolute idle (600-650 RPM).
The RPM does not fluctate or jump or anything, just vibrations.

If I put a slight touch to the pedal, so the RPM reaches 650-700 RPM all the vibrations are gone and the engine is smooth.

I've tried turning the HVAC off but no difference.
It's no difference beetween cold or warm engine, always vibrates during idle.

The idrive doesn't show anything unnormal.

Any cures for this one? I'm about to sell the car so it would be great if I could get this fixed ASAP.

Sparks? Coils? HPFP?

Do you have any exhaust mods?

All I have is BMW original PE, otherwise complete stock car it have never been tuned before as far as I know.

Could be spark plugs, ignition coils or fuel pump
Only way to know for sure is take it to a mechanic or wait until you get a code

Is it possible that there are codes thrown, but no CEL/iDrive message?
That would indicate faulty coil or fuel pump..

Yes, some shadow codes don't iluminate the CEL light or display a message on the iDrive screen, your best bet is to read all the codes from your car, I use CarlyforBMW on my iphone and the wi-fi dongle from Carly and I'm able to read regular and shadow codes in my N55.

I would start with plugs if youre on stock ones. Cheapest place to start (~100-120cad), codes/cel are unlikely (atleast ime) unless it misfires hard.

I have the same issue with 80k miles on it. I told the dealer about it and they wont' don anything until it throws a code. I am totally stock right now too. Plugs were changed not too long ago. I am also getting the squealing on startup, so it may be my PCV.
