n54 swap into 328i wagon tranny issue
Hi everyone,
i swapped not long ago a n54 to my wagon 328i e91 but i still have some issue with the tranny , i swapped the following to the wagon: n54 engine and tranny, all engine wire harness in the engine bay, full exhaust from 335i that fit perfect in the wagon, all module swapped except the footwell since i don't have hid light on the wagon and the junction box. the wagon did not have the steering wheel with paddle shifter and we swapped it as well. to the wagon. everything works excellent except that i don't have DS mode or paddle shifter working yet. manual works up and down, but if i am in manual only works with the shifter not paddles and after few second will go to d mode by itself are any differences with the wire harness from the 335i sedan 2009 to the 328i wagon 2009 ? thank you all |

Wouldn't a standard transmission be easier to swap?
I love the ZF-trans but for simplicity and headroom for modifying it more. I hope you post some pictures, the E91 335i is one of my favorite cars. I hope you can find someone to help |

Your transmission issue sounds similar to those who break the wires near the shifter and lose DS mode. Have you checked all the wiring to make sure nothing is pinched or shorted?
And JB4 isn't going to fix your misfires. It will autoclear codes generated by the downpipes but if you're misfiring, that's another issue. An O2 sim won't fix it either. Are you sure you didn't swap the O2 sensors when you installed DPs? That's a pretty common thing to do and it will cause problems. Are you getting misfire codes? Or is the car just running poorly? |

you probably switched the o2 sensors when you put them back on, check that first.

i am glad to hear that someone dif this swap before, it is pretty straight forward is you get all the parts from another crashed car.
i still with the same sport mode, ds mode problem. i even code the tranny again, i did the allophone flash but i does go into ds mode, when i move the shifter to the left, the m/s light lights up but won't show it in dash as sport at all and you can notice that the sport mode does not engage. i change the shifter assembly as well, i think i did everything except to change the solenoid valves in the mechatronic. it will be my next thing to do. if any one has any info how to change them, please share it if it is possible. thank you |
