ONR + dirty black car (56K warning)
I'm really amazed by ONR. Today was my second time using it. Temperature was around 45F and I used warm water with the mix. I used a Lowe's grout sponge and one bucket. I also used chrome polish to clean the tailpipes, which get really sooty every week.
We had snow and ice last week, and they drop a ton of salt on the roads around here. As you can see, my car was really dirty.

I polished the tailpipes first. Then I had clean tailpipes, rest of the car still dirty.
I mixed the ONR solution with about 4 capfuls to 2.5 gallons. That's a bit more ONR than recommended, but I figured the car was pretty dirty so it couldn't hurt. I cleaned the roof, then the rear window, trunk, and rear. What a difference!

On to the windshield, hood, and front. Then I do the sides. First the left side, beginning from the rear. Here's a 50/50.
Since there was so much stuff on the car, I used a lot of water. It was around this point where I was just about through my 2.5 gallons, and I mixed 2.5 more.

Here's the dirt that was under the grit guard from the first 2.5 gallons. A lot of dirt, and this is without having done the wheels yet. When you do the wheels, the water is much worse.
Also some shots of the completed left side. Note the wheels and wheel wells still caked with salt. On to the right side. A 50/50 shot of the right side.

Another 50/50 shot of the right side, then some shots of the finished product. These were taken before doing the wheels.
[EDIT - forgot to add the "other 50/50 shot" below, but I'll spare you guys that one. I uploaded a lot of photos, it's because I'm so amazed at how well this stuff works, even with a very dirty car.]

I didn't take any shots after finishing the wheels, but here's the bucket after doing the wheels!

I love my ONR. Thats all I use on my car. Hasn't been polished since February of 07', and other than some light marring on the rear bumper lip, everything is flawless. Gtta find time to do my car.

How do you like using the grout sponge? I just bought some last week. I've been using microfiber chenille mits up until now, but I heard the grout sponges rinse out much better so I'm going to try them out once it stops snowing and raining here.

It does rinse pretty clean, even when doing wheels. You can see the difference in color in the first photo between the one still in the package and the one on the grit guard -- that's after one ONR session. I used that same sponge again this time, and it's about one shade darker. I'll probably use it one more time, then toss it in favor of the new one in the photo.

i'm really perplexed at how the ONR works, anyone care to explain in detail? Does it cut any time off of regularly washing the car with let's say a foam gun, grit guard, and 2 bucket, etc?
btw, i'm diggin those rims! any details on them? cost and avail. sizes?

BK,
Car looks great! Where can I get ONR? How do you like the Mothers Chrome Polish? Haven't washed mine in a few weeks and ran out of Griot's car wash last time. If I can find some of that ONR I think I'll give it a whirl this week. -F1

Brian, this ONR stuff looks great, I will definitely look into it. Thanks for the details/pics (great as always :thumbsup)...
Any detriment in depending on ONR for daily washes throughout the year (in place of a proper wash)? I am sure the zaino on your car helps in the cleaning process and protects against marring/swirling...
