Extended Maintainence

Anybody know of any dealers giving out good deals for this? So far my dealer offered $1300+tax but I know another dealer giving me $985+tax. Any other places?

I suggest that you determine precisely what the "extended maintenance" contract offers and compare the cost to the maintenance you anticipate under said coverage.

From what you said, it appears that the extended maintenance contract only covers service at the intervals specified by BMW. If this is the case, it probably Inspections oil changes, etc. at the mileage and time the meter says they should be performed plus brake fluid changes every two years, and so forth. Should be fairly easy to calculate based on your driving style. For instance you can't expect an oil change at less than 15000 miles. The dealership can supply costs for the other services to use for comparison with the cost of the contract. If this is sold thru BMW Financial, the price should be negotiable.

Its a standard price from BMWNA.. Dealer makes like 25 dollars for selling it.

It is NOT negotiable.

I believe that E90 Fanatic has already found prices of $!300 and $985 for what is reputedly the same contract.

If he bought it when he bought the car new, the balance was probably taken from profit in the deal .

OK. I suppose that is possible. Do you have anything to support the non-negotiable $25 markup on a $985 or $1300 retail item? It sure sounds low to me, as well as potentially a price fixing issue. Thanks.

985 is the MSRP as I found on BMW's brochure but i don't know how the hell did my own dealer (the dealer I bought my car from) can give me a price of $1300. $985 is good but I know there are better prices elsewhere.

I tend to agree with you and haven't been able to determine where Marketman got his information to the effedt that the price is fixed at $1300 with only a $25. markup.

My dealer quoted me $1065 for 6yrs/100,000 two days ago. My guess is that this is one of those items the dealer is allowed to sell at whatever price they can get for it. Same with Extended Warranty as well.

probably.....if you want a cheaper price...call burdick BMW. Their website is www.burdickbmw.com. They suck at giving deals on cars (max $500 off)...but they will sell everything at MSRP -> Maintenance plan at $985 + tax...so u should see which one is cheaper (burdick or your dealers). There's nothing to ship or get. All he needs is your last 5 digits of your VIN and a credit card.
