Rubber Prices – anyone else notice this?
Hi all – just casually looking at tyre prices (as you do) and couldn’t help notice how (relatively) cheap they are now.
In January 2014 an OEM Bridgestone 255/30/r19 would have cost £289.67 from blackcircles.com – I know because I bought a set a month or so later. Following my potential puncture (I like to know worst case) I’m looking at £196 for the same tyre today. Quite a saving. I suppose it makes sense in some ways, as every car I see seems to have unfeasibly thin rubber, perhaps the costs are coming down. Also – BC want £162 for a non RFT Good Eagle F1 – so I think the differential between the two (RTF and non RFT) has come down a lot as well – got to be good news. For info, a complete set* for me today would be£712.58 – seems almost reasonable *From memory I’m running 255/30/r19 rears and 225/35/r19 fronts |

You can get a full set of Eagle f1's in those dimensions for around £500 from tyreleader. £50 should get them fitted too.
There is also lovetyres.com too but I find tyreleader are cheaper as delivery is free. http://lovetyres.com/search/tyres/22...brand/Goodyear http://lovetyres.com/search/tyres/25...brand/Goodyear |

The tyre sizes are becoming a lot more common. a 225/40/18 is now one of the most common sizes, after the 195/50/15 which has held on for a long time due to the huge amount of cheap runabouts.
