:help: Opinions on dealer diagnostic
Hey guys!
My wife's E90 2009 had a nonfunctional AC I started with a weird smell in the cabin and did not cool at all. I took to the dealer and after 1,600.00 for a condenser replacement they diagnose another problem with the compressor in wish is not lowering the pressure enough. They believe is too high all the time. If my wife sets the AC to 18.5° C she gets the best performance, anything lower or higher just make it not cool enough. You think a compressor replacement alone can do any difference? Second, I heard you get heat in the cabin by pushing coolant thru a heater core and is controlled by flaps; is there way to check on that or completely disable it? I live in a country where heating is absolutely unnecessary and may contribute to this problem.

Before my AC compressor died, it started off as not cooling enough on hot days. It eventually gave up the ghost after a few months. The new AC compressor cools like new but it was pricey. I believe I paid around $900 parts+labor.

Thanks man, They quote me 1,800.00 for the part and 200.00 to install it.
I got an aftermarket one and I'm going to install it myself (Hopefully).
