Wish I could have been there! Different tuning and drivers, but what were the comparison lap times?

Hi Steve,

It was nice meeting you. I had to take off early, but didn't get a chance to say good bye to you since you were on the track.

Who is running the event on Friday?

Harold

S4TO335 is a faster driver for sure. HP's car has more horse power, but the driver lacks a little in driving skill. On the other hand, HP's car can travel much deeper in the braking zone before applying its brakes, thanks to the Brembo GT brakes front and rear, Hawk DTC compound brake pads, and a much bigger footprint(265-35-18 Pilot Sport Cups). In comparison, I think the Pilot Sport Cups lacks the lateral grip of the narrower (245-35-18) Kumho V710's can provide, perhaps because it was ran on full tread depth of 6/32" and not shaved to 4/32".

The Friday event is Hooked on Driving. I am on 235/40/18 Pilot Sport Cups. My tires have about 5 track days on them now. We should play more..that was fun. I use to have Audi friends that had comparable cars..and driving skill..and we use to trade places..lead..then follow..all the time. One of my friends doesnt track any more..and he has a proceded 335..and the other moved to Phoenix and he drives a Boxster S now..Ugh.

Allow me to get a few more events under my belt at Laguna Seca. This is only my second time there in 2 years!

I can't make it out this Friday, but I'll see you on April 7th!

No, not at all. With the proper offset(ET 35), a little fender rolling and a good amount of camber(-2+). For street, you will not get away with it....255-35-18 would be ideal.

I didnt have a transponder...I sold mine when I sold my race car. Maybe I should get another one..just for kicks. I know some groups allow you to rent them...Not sure of lap times...I was going pretty well...but this was my first time on that track in the 335i..so I was testing the envelopes. I had street brake pads on the car...maybe next time I can do the race pads.

Harold will have to estimate on the differences in lap times...maybe 2-3 seconds? Not sure..it was hard to tell what the overall lap times were...and the gap.
