Winter Flat tire

Im running 18" Dunlop Wintersport 3D, and got a flat tire during a snow trip. Basically, the guy who runs the shop, said that ill be fine slapping on an 18" spare tire, which is not going to be a winter tire. I called a more respectable tire shop where I live, and they said that the car won't handle properly if I hook on an all season tire with winter tire. I don't know whom to believe. Anyone know any non winter tires that might be compaitable with my Dunlops? Thanks.

oh and jsut to add, Im only looking for the spare tire to take me back home to boston. WHich is about a 150 mile drive. Once I get back to boston, I plan to put back my summer tires. So, Im curious as to what options I have as an all season spare that will match my Dunlop tires to take me back to boston? Thanks.

If one of four tires is an all season, you'll be fine for the 150 miles, unless you hit some snow/ice...performance/handling will be affected. If the roads are clear you'll be okay, but just make sure they are of the same size.
