SSTT with 100 octane....
Was at the track yesterday...Laguna Seca...and was just toolin around. I had never put any 100 octane in my car in tuned form...only when it was stock. And when it was stock..I didnt feel any difference. However, on the track yesterday...with about 50-70% 100 octane...(up from 91) I could definitely feel better pull...even when the car was running at oil temps of 270-280 degrees. I am happy with the fact that some 100 octane helps the SSTT. That is all....back to your regularly scheduled programming.

when I had the sstt I always ran 93 and a few times 94 and the car was very powerful. not as powerful as the jb2h though. Im actually going back to sstt. Im sick of going into the ecu.

The sstt has more grunt down low but after that the jb2 is a lot more powerful from my experience. the jb2h is very strong compared to sstt. I just hate going into the ecu and thats why I might switch back. just waiting for a good deal to come up.

Thanks. Pretty much the same as what i've been hearing. Don't forget SSTT stage 2 should be coming pretty soon as well which should get it into that JB2H range at the very least. |

Thanks for the report! That is similar to my experience with the SSTT and 100 octane on the track!

I found a place kinda near home that has 100 octane at the pump. Kinda pricey $7 a gallon, but I want to see how the car feels with it. Is it bad to fill up a whole tank of 100 octane?

Not bad at all (except for your wallet). Just make sure it is the 100 unleaded...

I just filled up my tank with 100 octane. $103 dollars later.
![]() Anyways, first imperssion, the car feels SMOOTH at idle. The first time I floored it I didnt notice much of a difference, I still had about 1 or 2 gallons of 91. On the freeway the car got up to 150 QUICK! after about 20 miles or so I got off the freeway. The car feels noticably faster not crazy faster but a noticable amount. The sound is great though. WOT you can hear the turbo spooling. Downside is I've driven about 40 miles and used almost a quarter of a tank. ![]()

Yeah, a little more then double what it usually costs. It's worth the experience though.
