Does anybody know when automatic parking assist will be an option on the 3 series BMW? I know VW has it now and I've been watching some youtube videos and it looks pretty impressive, esp. the parallel parking.

My wife can't park for s*** and I'm so paranoid about kerbing the wheels I don't go anywhere near a kerb these days. In fact the front lip of the car is so low I can't even park over the lowest of kerbs. Low profile tyres look nice, but sometimes I actually prefer driving my people carrier. It's longer but much easier to park, as you can mount the kerb to straighten up when things are tight. Mount the kerb at a shallow angle in my 3 series and all you'll hear is a nasty grinding noise

yeah lexus have it too. Not sure as re: BMW on this one tho mate.

its a nightmare with 225m alloys too, if I need to mount the kerb just make sure that you have the front tyre at 45 degrees to the kerb (and you have the clearance) so with that in mind - I just look for the next space
