Question will my battery get drained out after my 3 weeks trip?

I will go for a 3 week trip.
Do you think I should disconnect my negative terminal?
or the battery will be fine?

Thanks.

Three weeks is pushing it. Should get a battery maintainer.

Will be fine, IMO. I've gone 25 days, perhaps more with no problems at all.

My 5 yr old battery endured staying outside in freezing temperatures for 3 weeks.
A little slow to start, but didnt left me stranded.

How old is your battery? If less than 5 years old and you've got no signs of battery issues (increased discharge warning, fan issues, etc....) then you should be fine leaving it for 3 weeks.

If you have any aftermarket accessories (stereo amp, gps, other...) make sure these are off or disconnected.

If your battery is more than 5 years old or have recently had any issues, it may leave you stranded.

it's almost 5 years old and i just start having the "increased discharge warning" sometimes this winter.

How long is your commute? If its short, you should go for a long drive before leaving the car resting for a week. This will at least charge it.

You might want to consider replacing that battery soon too.
Ill probably look into what battery I need so I can go get it this weekend. Dont like the slow starts in the morning.

Yes. If you are getting discharge warnings, you should either replace the battery or disconnect the negative terminal. It will not start the car in cold weather after sitting a few weeks.

Long term - you might as well replace the battery now. You've probably only got another 6-12 months before you have more serious issues.

If you cannot replace it before your trip, you can either disconnect the terminal or just wait until you get back and then put a charger on the battery for an hour. Or you could have it hooked up to a battery maintainer / trickle charger the whole time.

Yes that is powerful enough, unless your battery has a serious problem like a shorted plate. A maintainer can't fix a bad battery.

A maintainer is probably 1/3 the cost of the new battery if you DIY. Again, might be easier just to replace the battery.
