335d Cut out non start

Had to be recovered today complete engine shut down......could off been worse as the Mrs would of been using the car tommoz. The issue was a diesel leak from under the inlet manifold area.

After getting it recovered home I traced the fault to the diesel return line was leaking basically on item 12 here there seems to be a little inline filter that had split in 2. I've super glued it for now and was going to order one tomorrow at the dealers but looks like you have to purchase the whole leak off pipe at £100!

Has anyone had issues with this happening? Im thinking of just putting a joiner in between the pipes but not sure if its a one way valve? I suppose I could blow down it both ends to determine if its a non return valve... I did take a picture of it but only after I glued it back together and it had a little gauze like filter in it.

Anyway the item in question is #12 on this parts diagram
