2009 325d lsm engine oil
Hi
I was wondering if anyone knows what is the best engine oil for a 325d, do I have to use LSM oil ? and secondly is it true that bmw diesels drink oil? Thanks in advance |

For the peace of mind why not just use an oil that meets the BMW standards? Granted a lot of them are just there for the EU emission rules etc but either way.
I can't speak on the oil burning but it's a 3.0L diesel, it is gonna consume some oil . |

My 2008 /09 335d hasn't used any oil in 8k miles, however I am getting oil changed this sat, tend to get oil changed up to 10 k miles.
I use use 5w-30, LL04 but you can use: 0w-30 (not really cold enough in the UK though) 5w-40 check out http://www.opieoils.co.uk/ always get my oil from them... they have suggested: Castrol Edge Titanium 0w-30 FST Fully Synthetic Car Engine Oil for my car or Castrol Edge Titanium 5W-40 FST Fully Synthetic Car Engine Oil Might go with the 5w-40 next time... I just make sure its LL04, but this is my car and my chioce, do what you feel happy with. |
