Another battery thread

I know it's nothing new.... but I am yet another story of being charged over $500 to have a battery replaced.

Sickening that it's just another way BMW F*#KS over their customers.

Driving along when the 4x4 and BRAKE lights came on. I pull over on the highway to check the wheels and was close enough to my dealership that I drove at 25 mph with my blinkers on. This whole time thinking it was my wheels or differential that was messed up. After waiting 45 mins for diagnostics my SA comes out and gives me the news. ~$300 for the battery and ~$200 to code it.

200 to code it?! That's ridiculous haha you can easily register it with a free program and cable but only need to code if you change to a different amp rating and even then, 200 to code the new battery is ridiculous. Get the same type of battery that is in your bmw and register it with the free program, takes no longer than 5 minutes

Ya, it's ridiculous. That's for labor and registration.

I mean, it's just one of those things you don't believe until it happens to you.
