how to do this.........

its been bugging me for months now.

how do you make a word or a phrase like for example "here" a link to a site? i see it all the time, but can't find it anywhere.

im assuming you mean linking like this

The easy way is to go to advanced when posting a reply and type the word you want to link then highlight it, then you click on the button that looks like a sideways paperclip a.k.a insert link button and just type the URL you want to link to.
