Updates so new readers don't have to read whole thread:

4 relays 4 resistors OEM BMW pins (these are pretty expensive) all wired and soldered together. No cutting, no splicing just take a pin out put a new pin in connect another pin to that pin.

Final price is yet to be determined as I still don't have the pins I need. I'm hoping for them to be between $50-$100. I'll only be supporting 335s at first and I'll see if I can check on a friends 328, I'm hoping it's the same.

Obviously only for the coupe and maximum benefit is in conjunction with an aftermarket bulb (you supply) this is also only for the coupe.





Also when I do first get this done I'll be starting with a set of 10 to make sure there's no complications. Then bump it up. (whoever get's the first sets will have to promise to install them ASAP)

The code could probably be solved by either wiring the original angel eye wire to a resistor constantly or using a DTDP relay so it's only using the resistor during headlight use.

That's getting way to complicated though. I'm going to keep at it and try and get the exact dimensions of the pin today though and see if it can at last be found.

If I do this an additional set of resistors will be required so were starting to get into a lot of money. And like I said I did not think the increase in brightness was as good as I had hoped. Part of the problem may have been I was looking at them at dusk and from right next to the car (instead of 10 feet in front)

Regardless I had a ton of requests for the corner delete setup which the gains are very obvious and apparent so I am back on track looking for the pins.

If I hunt down the pins I'll start making corner delete parts and redo the angel eye fix and take new pictures. I refuse to do it again without the pins though because it was such a ^$&% to strip some of the wires and get the new wires around them yada yada.

On a positive note I have found a way to do the corner delete with 0 cutting or splicing of any wires (and for the same reason no need to run a wire a few feet across the engine bay) but it adds an additional $5-$10. The angel eye mod of course was and remains 100% no cutting.

When this is done I may only sell them as a set (both angel eye and corner delete) to keep costs down and make things easier on me. Please give me input if you feel strongly about only wanting one or the other.

If you're not sure what I'm talking about turn your DRLs on take a look and then turn your headlights on. Especially if you've installed the GPthunder8500 bulbs they go WAY dim almost invisible.



I've been working on a easy simple fix for this and I'm getting really close now.

I've been considering pre-fabbing them with OEM bmw connectors and selling them. They would be completely plug and play and install similar to a piggyback (intercepting pins) except much quicker because the plug is easily accessible on the back of the headlight housing by popping the hood. There would be absolutely no cutting or anything involved. Just taking out pins/ plugging in pins and taping up connections.

You would also have the choice to install it on the outside of the housing (a little less "clean") or the inside (more "clean" but a more of a pain in the butt).




It is something you could do yourself but requires soldering and sourcing parts from multiple places (and paying multiple sets of companies minimum shipping charges) if you do. As well as buying a spool of wire when you'll only use a foot or two. In other words it would be a lot cheaper to buy them from someone buying the parts in bulk as well as save you plenty of time and solder smoke inhalation.

It might be possible to include the pins and wires for the yellow corner running light delete as well. But it would definitely require a resistor and possible cutting of one wire because I couldn't seem to find where it terminates.

Any interest in that as well?

Is there a way to make the corner turn signal lights brighter as well? I noticed that they are very bright when flashing (turning, lock/unlock doors) but dim when they are on with the headlights. Is this normal, and can the same type of solution be used? I have white invisibulbs in mine to replace the yellow..

I think you have an e90? I don't think you can replace the yellow LED in the headlight. Most people want to cut them off when the headlights are on, not make them brighter.

No the angel eyes (if that's what your referring to as DRLs since that's what they actually are.) dim on the e92 when the headlights (low beams) come on. This is to be a fix for that. It wont work on an e90. If you have the same problem though there might be a fix for it.

Yea and I'll get working on that after the weekend.

The catch though is it will probably require cutting a wire as I believe the side indicator terminates somewhere else and not the headlight housing. You will, however, not have to cut the two wires on the headlight plug like you would if you were DIY.

There is no reason to delete it..I replaced the yellow bulb with a xenon bulb with a chrome coating on it so there is no yellow at all..it blinks white, and you cant see the bulb when you look in the headlight.

You need to turn your headlights on and then go look at them if you have an e92.

Right, but if I do it you wont have to cut all those wires, you'll pull the pins pop them in to new ones to be grounded through the resistor, pop another to add power and reconnect. The only wire you would have to fiddle with would be the one from the side marker. And I have a pretty good idea of how to do it so you don't have to fiddle as much.

OH INTERESTING!

you want to pull the needle pin connector OUT of the harness then
get the appropriate connection into that needle pin then connect that to a resistor to ground

what's your plan for the side marker (if you don't mind me asking)
