E92 320d Rail pressure problem.
I have a problem with my 320d. It's 2007, M Sport (e92) with 81,000 miles.
The problem started 3 days ago when the engine cut out while driving and the engine management light came on. I could re-start the engine but it was struggling and would not rev past 1500. I got the car recovered in the end and once home, I ran diagnostics which gave the following codes: Zylinder 1 Control / Glow plug cylinder 1 Code: 4A64 Rail pressure quantitative plausibility control Code: 4560 Rail pressure quantitative plausibility control Code: 4570 Rail pressure-pressure-controlled plausibility Code: 4610 Throttle actuator Code: 483D Rail pressure-pressure-controlled plausibility Code: 4600 Rail pressure-pressure-controlled plausibility Code: 4630 Rail pressure quantitative plausibility control Code: 4590 Rail pressure monitoring Code: 4B90 Today the fuel filter was replaced and after priming and cranking the engine seemed to start easier and idle for about 5 minutes before cutting out. Tried again a few times and back to square one, it will idle but won't rev past 1500. In INPA I read the status of the fuel bump (see screenshots). My observations are that the actual pump speed is about half the target pump speed, also the pump motor current was fluctuating between about 9.7 and 11.5 rapidly. Does anyone have any advice as to what could be the problem? Thanks |
