Left parking light defective

Leaving the gym this morning, I got a nice dash light letting me know a parking light was out. Using my Carly code reader, I got the following error: "left parking light defective 00A8AC"

When looking at the drive side headlight, I can see that one of the Halos is out. I was going to order the LUX E90 LCI HALOGEN V2 as an upgrade...but noticed a single bulb powers both halos.

Is it possible that the OEM bulb installed only burned for one of the halos out, and not the other? I don't mind paying for the LUX upgrade, but would like to ensure it illuminates both halo rings and the problem doesn't lie elsewhere...

ordered the LUX Halogen V2s anyway...just hoping it solves my problem
