p30ff after oil cooler and oil filter gasket replacement
I recently did a lot of work to my 08 335xi. Replace oil filter housing gasket, oil cooler gasket, water pump, radiator, thermostat etc. Prior to all of this my car ran great with the exception of the oil and coolant leaks Ive since repaired. Ive checked the intercooler connections, charge piping etc. The only code my car has is the p30ff. Any recommendations of where to look for my boost leak? I doubt it is a wastegate issue as the car ran fine before the repairs I have mentioned and did nothing but sit in the driveway until the repairs were made.
My car is a manual trans, xdrive equipped car. As you know space is very limited under there any tips to at least get a glance at the turbos and waste gates without dropping just about the whole front end of the car? Its very cold in NJ and without a garage Im a driveway mechanic so you can imagine the misery that would insue if I had to all that for simple diagnostics. |

Check/test all of your vacuum connections. If you have the original lines, chances are there's a leak in one of them, which can cause a 30FF.

I second this advise. Chances are you bumped/pulled on some vac lines and broke them. There are vac lines for the wastegates running behind the oil filter housing.
