Maybe they got pinched or dirt preventing seal You have the correct size and thickness o rings? Could oil be coming from the OFH gasket or the cooler housing gasket?

There are two gaskets in that area, the oil filter housing gasket and the oil cooler profile gasket.
I literally do at least 2-3 a week, it is more than likely the oil cooler profile gasket..
Take you 10 mins...
Make sure you bleed cooling system after (Google search proper way to bleed it's easy)

Thanks for the great info ... I didn't know I had to bleed the cooling afterwards if I change the oil cooler housing gasket
