These cars don't have an in-line fuel filter like previous generations...the filter is built into the pump, and they don't typically have any problems.
I'd definitely suggest doing the power steering fluid yourself, you just need to get a turkey baster and suck the fluid out from the reservoir. Refill it, turn the wheels back and forth a bit and do it again a few times. Make sure you get the correct fluid...some of them use ATF and others use CHF 11s. There should be a sticker on the reservoir if it uses CHF, but the sticker can fall off. You can check the color of what's in there now...ATF is red, CHF 11s is green. Also for what it's worth, I was quoted $610 for transmission service at my dealership. I have a GM transmission, I think you might have the ZF. But he said it's about the same for both. |

I'm up to my 60k maintenance for my car and I'm trying to get everything needed for it. Everything was listed for the 60k, is there anything I shouldn't be worried about now?

Yeah, oil and spark plugs. Have you checked for any oil leaks? Take a look at the oil filter housing gasket...if there's any evidence that it's leaking, that's a great opportunity to change the coolant at the same time.
I'd hold off til 80 or 100k for the driveline fluids. The belt can probably wait. Take a look at the tensioner pulley. What tends to happen is it gets weak and the belt starts to slip off the pulley. The belt should be a millimeter or two back from the edge of the pulley. If it's starting to come past the edge then I'd go ahead and replace the belt and pulleys now. The belt itself should definitely last 100k or more, so just replace it all once it starts to come off the pulley. EDIT: The first picture is what the belt should look like, in the second picture it's starting to come off the pulley. |

On your 335, you'll also want to watch for contact between the power steering pulley and the subframe. On the N54 that's a bigger issue than the tensioner pulley. The engine mounts can weaken and allow the power steering pulley to dip too close to the subframe, and the belt will quickly be shredded. Inspect the belt for any signs of tears, and any damage to the pulley.
I think they fixed (or at least improved) the problem sometime in 2008...so depending on when yours was made, you might not have any problems with it. |

seems a little over priced to me. Ask him how he came to that price and which products you are going to get like brand of parts/fluids have him give you a line by line itemized bill and then compare it with what your local dealership will do the same work for. dealerships will only use oem parts and give u a warranty of 24k miles/24 months to back up their work. Also remember he is making money on selling u the parts cuz he buys it at reseller prices not retail prices that you can get from ecstuning or getbmwparts sites. ask for his hourly bill rate and how many hours he is billing you for on EACH item. a lot of those items can be combined on labor because the effort for tear down has already been done as part of another job. The more u know the less u get ripped off. |

Yeah I spoke to him today, he's ordering the parts not sure from where (online or dealership) but I do trust his work. He worked on a lot of my friends and family cars. It's call bucket automotive.

Dealerships also give you free rental cars, free coffee/donut/bagels... and the warranty. If the price is close between the Indy and dealership... pay a few bucks more and go to the stealership. Then again... if the price is close to a stealership... your Indy is probably a rip off and you need a better indy. |

Ultimate Bimmer Service. I know they do oil change for $80...spark plugs are like $325, and not sure about the others. They are ex BMW techs and do quality work...you can trust them.
